Artists and activists involved in the Chicano Movement in San José between 1970 and 1975 are encouraged to attend a forum at the Cultural Heritage Center, Room 525 (fifth floor) in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library at San José State University on April 19, 2010 at 7PM. Professor Ann Marie Leimer will present photographs of El Movimiento captured by Jesús Manuel Mena Garza. Participants will have an opportunity to share their knowledge of the depicted events. Feedback is critical for the success of the plática. Space is very limited.

Riverside, CA photographer Jesús Manuel Mena Garza's website has a gallery of his photos taken in the 70's. Seems that Garza is working on a book with a working title of Chicano Photographer. His black and white images were taken while touring with theater groups include Cesar Chavez, Corky Gonzales, farm worker marches and performances by el Teatro Campesino.
